Service Description

This 8-hour Tactical Readiness Response Course is designed to prepare patrol officers to rapidly respond to active attacks and other critical incidents using proven tactical concepts. The course emphasizes immediate action, movement to the threat, dynamic breaching, room entry, solo officer response, contact team tactics, subject control, and Direct Threat Care (DTC) principles. Course Goal Equip patrol officers with the knowledge, tactical mindset, and practical skills necessary to safely and effectively respond to active attacks and other high-risk incidents until specialized resources arrive. Learning Objectives Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to: 1. Tactical Mindset Explain the responsibilities of patrol officers during an active attack and the importance of immediate intervention. 2. Exterior Tactical Approach Demonstrate safe and tactically sound exterior approaches to buildings while utilizing available cover, concealment, observation, and communication. 3. Threat Assessment Conduct rapid threat assessments to identify suspect location, access points, hazards, and potential victims while maintaining situational awareness. 4. Solo Officer Response Demonstrate solo officer response techniques emphasizing movement, communication, threat identification, and decision-making while moving toward the threat. 5. Contact Team Operations Demonstrate two-, three-, and four-officer contact team formations and coordinated movement through hallways, intersections, stairwells, and open areas. 6. Dynamic Breaching Demonstrate safe dynamic breaching techniques using manual breaching methods while maintaining security and minimizing unnecessary exposure. 7. Room Entry Perform room entry techniques using proper threshold evaluation, sector responsibility, communication, and domination of the room. 8. Hallway Movement Demonstrate hallway movement techniques while maintaining security, cross-coverage, and effective communication. 9. Subject Control Tactics Apply appropriate control techniques to safely detain, search, handcuff, and secure compliant, non-compliant, and high-risk subjects. 10. Direct Threat Care (DTC) Demonstrate life-saving interventions during Direct Threat Care, including rapid casualty movement, extremity hemorrhage control, tourniquet application, and and casualty evacuation considerations.
