Valor Tactical Firearm Instructor Course

Service Description

Course Goal To develop qualified firearms instructors who can safely plan, conduct, supervise, and evaluate law-enforcement firearms training while complying with TCOLE standards, applicable law, agency policy, and accepted range-safety practices. Upon successful completion, the student will be able to: -Explain the legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities of a law-enforcement firearms instructor. -Apply TCOLE requirements, use-of-force law, agency policy, and firearms-training liability principles. -Develop and enforce range-safety plans, emergency procedures, safety briefings, and standardized range commands. -Explain the operation, nomenclature, ammunition, maintenance, and safe handling of semi-automatic pistols, revolvers, and shotguns. -Demonstrate and teach fundamental handgun and shotgun marksmanship, weapon manipulation, reloading, and malfunction-clearance techniques. -Identify shooter performance deficiencies and apply effective coaching, correction, and remediation methods. -Develop measurable learning objectives, lesson plans, qualification courses, and performance assessments for firearms training. -Safely organize, supervise, and conduct classroom, dry-fire, qualification, and live-fire training. Accurately evaluate, score, document, and report student firearms proficiency and qualification results. -Demonstrate instructional competency by successfully completing required written, practical, qualification, and live-fire teaching assessments. -Develop measurable learning objectives and a complete firearms lesson plan that includes safety requirements, instructional content, practical exercises, equipment needs, and assessment methods. -Design a legally defensible course of fire -Design tactical firearm courses of fire This course will be taught by Lead Trainer Ret. Equipment: Duty Gear & Handgun 500 rds, shotgun 50 rounds birdshot, 25 rounds 00 buck, revolver .38. or. 357 caliber 100 rounds, 10 rounds rifle slugs. eye and ear protection, clothing adaptable to weather.
