COURSE OVERVIEW Take your firearms instruction to the next level with Valor’s Red Dot Sight (RDS) Instructor Course. This 3-day, performance-driven program equips instructors with the knowledge, skills, and teaching ability to effectively implement and sustain a red dot handgun program within their agency. KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES ✔ Master red dot fundamentals & optic setup ✔ Establish proper zero & understand ballistics ✔ Improve draw stroke & rapid dot acquisition ✔ Eliminate “dot hunting” through proper technique ✔ Enhance accuracy, speed, and target focus ✔ Diagnose and correct shooter errors ✔ Transition to backup sights under stress ✔ Integrate low-light and duty applications ✔ Develop and implement agency RDS programs COURSE HIGHLIGHTS Zeroing & confirmation drills Performance-based shooting standards Instructor teach-backs Low-light applications Failure drills & optic management Real-world duty applications EQUIPMENT REQUIRED Duty handgun with mounted red dot optic 500 rounds of ammunition (Bring more....) Duty gear (holster, mags, belt) Eye & ear protection Weapon-mounted light (recommended) Note: Day Two is nighttime session. This course will be taught by Lead Trainer Ret.
