School-Based CQC for Patrol & School Police (16 Hours) Course Purpose: To provide patrol and school-based officers with realistic, patrol-applicable CQB skills for responding to active threats in school environments, emphasizing speed, dominance, threat recognition, and lifesaving movement—without waiting for SWAT. This two-day 16-hour course is designed to equip patrol officers, school resource officers, and school district police with practical, patrol-level Close Quarters Contact (CQC) skills for responding to active threats in school environments. The training focuses on immediate action response, emphasizing movement, dominance, communication, and threat recognition in hallways, classrooms, stairwells, and multi-room areas. Students will learn school-specific CQC principles, including hallway domination, classroom entry and clearing, stairwell operations, and decision-making under stress—without relying on SWAT-only tactics. Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on drills, and scenario-based exercises, officers will develop the confidence and capability to move decisively toward threats, manage rescues, and improve survivability for students, staff, and responding officers during critical school-based incidents.
