Officer & Vehicle Tactical Safety Course

Service Description

This 16 hour course will train officers to identify common behavioral pre-incident indicators of a potential attack, identify tools to help them prevent and react to ambush attacks. Officers will be able to examine the sensory distortions that they may experience before, during, and after officer-involved shootings. Officers will be able to identify observable characteristics of an armed person and help them remain alert and stay safe. Officers will identify tools to assist them in combating complacency and to provide them information on how to maintain a healthy level of vigilance and awareness. Officers will be able to understand the importance of casualty care in suppressing the threat, using cover and concealment for protection, and treating life-threatening bleeding as the first medical priority. Officers will be able to identify an off-duty active shooter incident and identify the key considerations for responding off duty Officers will be able to identify the eight kill zones in high-risk vehicle stops and identify safe passenger side approach tactics & vehicle safety tactics . Officers will be able to identify practical considerations and dangers of foot pursuits & Vehicle Pursuits. Officers will be able to understand the overview of the research conducted by FBI Behavioral Science Unit that evaluated the officer, the offender, and the circumstances that brought them together in deadly force encounters. Equipment Required: Assigned weapon systems: 100 rounds handgun |100 rounds rifle, assigned duty gear, assigned ballistic gear & helmets, eye & ear protection, marked police unit, pen & paper
